The Les Essards vineyard was planted in the late 1960s by Antoine’s father in the village of Comblanchien. It is a clay-centric parcel with very little topsoil before hitting limestone. The grapes are organically farmed, incorporating biodynamic principles, with soils worked by a horse and plow.

Les Essards is marked by lovely fruit concentration and beautiful balance. Perhaps a bit quieter and more nuanced than the more explosive Plantes Aux Bois.
