This striking and serious vintage from Grand Puy Lacoste is one for the books. Textured and tantalizing, the wine oozes with smooth flavors of blackberry, raspberry, graphite, and moist soil. Grippy tannins and bright acidity assure this wine will continue to evolve for another 15+ years. (GPL slightly modified their blend in ‘98. A 70/30 Cabernet Sauvignon + Merlot blend was used, with no Cabernet Franc added in.) ,
