It’s nearly impossible to discuss Marsannay without mentioning Charles Audoin. The region did not get its own AOC until 1987 and has been historically considered a less favorable appellation than Volnay, for example. The Audoin family, however, has been at the forefront of showing Marsannay's incredible potential. Charles' son Cyril is at the helm of the family business today, continuing to produce exceptional, terroir-driven expressions from this underdog region.
'Charme Aux Preteres' loosely translates to "charm to priests," and this special cuvée is made in very small quantities: only 600 bottles are produced annually. The grapes are sourced from a small, east-facing vineyard with gravelly soils and a limestone bedrock, which results in excellent drainage. We can promise you that it tastes divine!
