Traditionally, Vernaccia was vinified exlusively with skin-contact. In fact, if the winemaker was unsatisfied by the depth of color, sometimes they would add caramel.
Today, you'll never find caramel added to Montenidoli's wines, but organically farmed "Tradizionale" does see about 5-7 days of skin maceration, resulting in a lovely depth of flavor and texture. This bottle boasts notes crisp citrus, bitter almond, and mediterranean herbs.
