In the very heart of the island of Corsica lies Clos Venturi. The domaine is nestled in the forest between two mountain ranges, teeming with a tightly managed microcosm of sheep, chickens, horses, pollinators, and of course, grapes.
The mosaic of native flora and fauna is readily reflected in “Chiesa Nera.” The bottle is a sweet homage to Manu’s grandfather and a vessel to uplift the indigenous varieties of the island, like Vermentinu, Biancu Gentile, and Genovese to name a few. The red is structured and elegant, while the white is luscious, mineral, and crisp. The bottle evokes the herbality and garrigue of the landscape; dry herbs and florals like lavender and sage unfurl from the glass.
