The Morris has quickly become an industry staple in San Francisco and it’s no surprise why. Although more restaurant than bar, The Morris’ bar area is perfect for grabbing a quick glass of wine, served with as small or large of a meal as you please. The place boasts an impressive 63 page wine list, curated by the one and only Paul Einbund, showcasing back-vintage bottles, an array of magnums, and an impressive list of Chartreuse offerings, also served in slushy format. Guests can take their pick from extensive Rhone, California, and Beaujolais offerings, paired with small plates, charcuterie, and cheese boards.

This cozy, Clement Street wine bar is the perfect ambiance for both wine novices and enthusiasts alike, with knowledgeable staff eager to make recommendations to help find that perfect pour. Sommelier founders Michael Ireland and John Vuong are industry legends, with Ireland formerly working the floor at The French Laundry and Quince, and Vuong previously holding down the wine scene at Ame. The bar’s high ceilings and relaxed ambiance provide the perfect backdrop for catching up with friends, all whilst sipping and snacking on New American inspired small plates (we recommend the burrata or fried chicken sliders.) The bar also offers an extensive list of Sherry and Vermouth, perfect for delving into the world of off the beaten path styles of wine.

Founded in 2007, this natural wine focused hotspot has heavily influenced Bay area buyers, consumers, and industry folk alike, bringing honest, soil-driven juice to the masses. Loft area seating is available and music is quietly played from an old-school record player. Snacks are limited to simple cheese and charcuterie boards, but here, the wine is really the star of the show anyways. Come thirsty, leave happy.

Located in Hayes Valley, this all women-owned Champagne bar finds its home in a 19th century corner cafe space, offering over 100 Champagnes by the bottle and tons of other bubbles by the glass. Collections of old Champagne buckets and glassware line the walls of this sophisticated lounge space, adding a touch of antiquated charm to guests’ sipping experience. Best of all, The Riddler’s bubbles are paired with tater tot waffles, potato chips, and complimentary popcorn.

Although the small plate list rotates frequently, expect salty oysters, fresh local produce, and a few meat-based options-- and don’t forget to end the night with a small pour of something sweet/fortified!
