Cruse is a boutique winery based out of Petaluma, known for their energetic, ‘thoughtfully crafted table wines.’ Fruit for this varietal Tannat comes from decomposed sandstone soils at high elevations (2,300 feet). Grapes are destemmed and fermented spontaneously in concrete, followed by élevage and natural malolactic in used barriques, bottled unfined and unfiltered. The wine is juicy and easy-drinking, marked by notes of blackberries, crushed rocks, and cherry coulis. Delicious!
