In. ‘Bricco dell’Uccellone’ gets its name from the vineyard’s neighbor, a woman always dressed in black (nicknamed l’uselun, or big bird.) This varietal Barbera is juicy and fresh, aged for 15 months in large oak barrels, then 12 months in bottle. Red berries and spice dominate the nose, giving way to a luscious palate full of concentrated yet balanced flavors. Serve with roasted meats or ragu.
